MRE sides are "ready to eat" and easy to prepare — no cooking is required. They are completely precooked, self-contained foods (military meals) that require NO REFRIGERATION and can be eaten right out of the pouch.

Ready to eat MRE side dishes typically have a 5 to 7 year shelf life when stored at 80°F — longer if stored in cool conditions.
