The Making of a Freeze Dried Omelette - TheEpicenter Way!

Our attempt at the making of a freeze dried Omelette created with nothing but freeze dried components.

We had been setting items aside for our "Epic Omelette" for several months. Anytime we had an open tray in our Harvest Right Freeze Dryer, we freeze dried an omelette component and packaged it for later use. The time finally came when we had everything we needed!

All in all, this was a major success! The freeze-dried tomatoes were the only item that we will need to rethink in the future. The trick will be to dip the freeze-dried tomatoes in water and not let them soak.

The freeze-dried cheese was a bit tricky to get just right. In the end we turned it into "cheese powder" — added water and made a cheese paste. Next time we'll try using milk to reconstitute the freeze dried cheese.
