TheEpicenter crew has a taste test review of the new freeze dried Mountain House Chicken & Dumplings. This new 2-serving pouch was originally released in January 2016 and has a 30+ year shelf life.
This new Mountain House entree was a big hit with most of the crew...
Can you guess who wasn't 100% thrilled with it? ;)
The southern recipe with homemade flavor has loads of chicken (in every bite!), carrots, peas, and fluffy buttermilk dumplings, all in a deliciously satisfying creamy white sauce (well, gravy, but don't tell Jenny that!). We think the dumplings are nearly identical to the buttermilk biscuits from the Mountain House breakfast item "Biscuits and Gravy".
John, Janet, and Jessica loved this new entree so much that it has become one of our top favorites! We would love to have this available in #10 cans for emergency food storage — hint-hint to OFD Foods LLC ;) — But until then, several of us are planning on storing this yummy pouch entree in our own emergency food and camping supplies and perhaps a quick lunch from time to time.
