Review Augason Farms Hearty Vegetable Beef Soup Mix

This is our first "official" taste taste video review of Augason Farms products — the Hearty Vegetable Beef Soup Mix in a #10 can.

This soup mix ingredients include long grain white rice, lentils, and elbow macaroni along with beef bouillon, carrot dices, celery slices, chopped onion, and spices. Quite a hearty mix!

Note: We were a bit confused about how much this #10 can actually makes. The can says there are 21 servings and the serving size is 1/3 cup. As it turns out, the 1/3 cup is the dry mix amount, not the amount when everything expands after simmering. It looks like a #10 can of the Hearty Vegetable Beef Soup Mix really makes about 26, 1-cup servings.

All in all this had a nice flavor and was very filling. We decided it was more like stew than soup, and it makes a TON of food! We also thought the texture was a bit odd, so next time we make this we'll try adding Ground Beef or Diced Beef to the mix.
