Another fun experiment: Freeze Dried Pickles, Soup, and Pasta in our Harvest Right Home Freeze Dryer!
Okay, Freeze Dried Pasta, but Freeze Dried Dill Pickles? Freeze Dried Soup? Oh My! This batch of home freeze dried items was quite unique. Was it a success?
- Dill Pickles
- Italian Wedding Soup
- Turkey Noodle Soup
- Pasta with Beef and Tomato Sauce
In attempt to tone down the salt in the pickles, we followed a recommendation from another home freeze dryer user, and soaked the pickles in water prior to freeze drying them.
We also freeze dried some leftovers from a pasta dish we had made for lunch the day before.
Rounding things out to use all 4 trays, we decided to freeze dry our frozen leftover Homemade Turkey Noodle Soup and store-bought Italian Wedding Soup.
