In the near future, you will begin seeing this change reflected in a new "Best By" date on Mountain House packaging, replacing the current “Best Use By” date. Mountain House began printing new "Best By" dates reflecting the new 30-year shelf life on all pouches and cans containing entrees on June 1, 2016. Note: Pouches containing ice cream and cheesecake continue to have a 2-year shelf life, while the military long range patrol rations (LURPs) and military foil packages (no oxygen absorbers) continue to have a 10+ year shelf life.
