1. What is the order system?

When you enter our product pages, our system issues you a shopping cart. We keep track of the items you place in your shopping cart, and allow you to browse all the product categories. As you move from aisle to aisle (product categories), your shopping cart goes with you. You can place any item from any aisle in your shopping cart.

Once you are ready to pay for the items, you can go to the "checkout stand." While you are there, you select your payment option and let us know where you would like the items to be sent. Unlike the supermarket, we will deliver the items right to your door!

Once we know where to send the items, we calculate your total  which includes your shipping costs. If you forgot an item, you can run back to the aisle (product category) to pick it up. The great thing is that you don't lose your place in line! If you discover that you don't have enough money, you can return items to the shelf at any time.

When all the shipping and billing information is complete, and your grand total has been calculated, the final step is to confirm the order by pressing a button. That's it!

We will automatically E-mail you a copy of the information you provided, and a list of the items you ordered.

2. How do I use this order system?

We offer a convenient new feature to you while you shop! When you are on one of our product pages, you may order as many different items, and any quantity of those items, at the same time! Just fill in each of the boxes and press the "Add selected items to my shopping cart" button only once.

At any time, the Order Control Panel can be used to "Add an item to your shopping cart," to "View or modify your cart contents," or to "Go to the Checkout Stand" to pay for your items.

3. How will I know I'm in the secure order system, and that my information is really secure?

Our system supports secure orders via SSL encoding! Once you go to the check out stand and have selected the secure order system, most browsers display either a key or a closed lock, as shown. The actual appearance depends on which browser and which version you are using. If you are unable to connect to the secure server, it is possible your browser does not support SSL encoding and you may need to use the standard system.You will not actually be using the secure order system until you are ready to pay for the items on your order!

4. Will I be Charge Sales Tax?

No! We operate in Eugene, Oregon and do not charge customers a sales tax.

5. Can I order items from several product pages, and get just one bill?

The next step is to select your payment options, and let us know where you would like the items sent. Unlike the supermarket, we will deliver your items right to your door!

Available options include:

• "Prepay" – after receiving your total you can send a check or money order.

• VISA or Master card options:
• VISA or Master card – Using the card number from your last order.
• VISA or Master card – Provide information on form.
• VISA or Master card – Epicenter to call for account information.
• VISA or Master card – FAX in card information.
• VISA or Master card – Mail in card information.

9. How are my shipping costs calculated?

This system calculates the shipping costs to your zip code (Continental US Only) based on the weight of your items and other shipping constraints. NOTE:There is a minimum $5.00 shipping and handling charge that applies to all orders.

When your order is placed, you will receive an automatic confirmation by E-mail. A real person from Epicenter will also send you an E-mail to let you know when the order will be shipped, or if an item will be delayed.

Please note that the same items shipped to New York and to California, will have very different shipping costs! That's because California is closer to our shipping location than New York is, and UPS charges are based on distance! So be prepared for higher shipping costs if you reside on the east coast.

When possible, our system calculates your shipping costs based on best shipping conditions (i.e. all your items can be shipped in one box, etc.). In some circumstances, we are not able to place all your items in one box, and our system accounts for those conditions and charges you accordingly. A good example is when a 55 gallon water drum is ordered along with a few light sticks. The drum will be shipped by itself, and the other items will be  shipped in another box.

10. Who wrote this order system?

This order system was a two party project. The pages that you see were designed and constructed by the Epicenter crew. These pages send data to a program that was written for us by Geoduck Software and Services which does all the house keeping and calculations. There is a lot of background processing going on to keep track of:  the items you order, the item prices, the item quantities, the item shipping weights and the shipping costs. Our system calculates the actual shipping costs based on your order weight and where the items are being shipped.

11. Can this system be licensed to me for use at my web store?
